Via Podiensis i
Sydfrankrig er en del af caminoen/pilgrimsvejen
som fører til Santiago de Compostela i Spanien. |
The altar
with a monstrance containing "The
Holy Headdress", which is said to have
shrouded the head of Christ, when he was buried.
Due to the
headdress the
cathedral has been a pilgrimage site for
centuries, and Via Podiensis is
one of the
four main pilgrimage routes through France. |

Château de Cayx
er beliggende ved landsbyen Caïx, i kommunen Luzech, departement Lot (hvor Cahors er hovedbyen), region Occitania.
Vinslottet i Lotdalen har tilhørt H.K.H. Prins Henrik og H.M. Dronning Margrethe siden 1974. H.K.H. Prins Henrik (1934-2018) er vokset op på egnen på vinslottet "Le Cayrou", Albas, Lot.
Prins Henrik var søn af greve André de Laborde de Monpezat (1907-1998) og grevinde Renée f. Doursenot (1908-2001). Forældrene mødte hinanden i Fransk Indokina i 1920'erne og giftede sig i 1931. Prins Henrik blev født i Hanoi (hovedstad i Fransk Indokina, nu Vietnams hovedstad), hvor han boede de første fem år af sit liv. Siden 1939 boede familien på vinslottet Le Cayrou. H.K.H. Prins Henrik var nummer to i rækken af greveparrets i alt ni børn, hvoraf de tre døde tidligt.

de Cayx is located in the village Caïx, the municipality of Luzech, department of Lot, region of
Occitania.
The chateau has been owned by HRH Prince Henrik and his wife HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark since 1974. HRH Prince Henrik (1934-2018) grew up in the area at the chateau "Le Cayrou", Albas, Lot. At HRH Prince Henrik's funeral at Christiansborg Palace Chapel in Copenhagen the priest threw soil
